Tell us about your professional role: My professional background includes over 13 years in the fields of human service, mental health and education. I am the Community Connections Coordinator for Central Virginia Community College. In my role I cultivate and maintain partnerships with community service organizations and develop, implement, and maintain a case management system tracking services provided to students. I absolutely love my job because this job is a melting pot of all of my previous professional experiences. And in this role, I have the opportunity to work with so many amazing students along with amazing area organizations. This is a very philanthropic community, and there are a ton of amazing people and organizations doing amazing work.
What do you enjoy in your spare time? Personal hobbies include travelling (COVID-19 has changed this!), hiking, working out, reading, listening to podcast, going to concerts (once again COVID-19 has changed this!), and trying new restaurants.
Who or what inspires you? I am very goal oriented, and I am inspired by multiple people. I am inspired by visionaries who set big goals, push themselves and work until the attain their goals. I follow and am inspired by Sarah Blakely, Serena Williams, Lisa Nichols, Steve Jobs, Beyonce, Dewayne Johnson, and many others.
What's a fun fact about you? I graduated from Liberty University with my Bachelors and Masters degree. But I also graduated from Central Virginia Community College with a certificate in Cosmetology!
Why did you join YPCV? The Lynchburg community is rapidly growing and there are a ton of young professionals doing great things in this area. I joined YPCV to connect with these individuals and to learn more about our ever changing community.
