Name: Mark Burgin
Company/Organization: Petty, Livingston, Dawson & Richards, P.C. (PLDR)
Job Title: Associate Attorney
How long have you been in Lynchburg? Five years
Tell us about your professional role: I practice construction law with PLDR, which involves contract drafting, mediation, arbitration, and court litigation for owners, developers, general contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers on local and national commercial projects.
What do you enjoy in your spare time? As a farmer's son, I enjoy woodworking and outdoor activities, such as bicycling, hiking, and camping.
Who or what inspires you? My grandfather because of his lifetime working on the family's +100 year old dairy farm, self motivation to start and finish projects, and insight and wisdom on practical matters.
What's a fun fact about you? I built a cabin in upstate New York while in high school.
Why did you join YPCV? When I moved to Lynchburg from southwest Virginia, I did not know anyone and a colleague recommended that I join the YPCV and attend the YPCV's 535 Social. After joining the YPCV, I was introduced and impressed by the YPCV's professional development programs and felt such programs are a good way for individuals to gain valuable professional skills and information.
